Welcome to lessons by grade! Below, you will find categories for the lower grades, mid grades to and then junior high and high school. Each lesson includes guidelines, activity suggestions and resources which can be adapted to fit your classroom needs.

Grades 1-3

These lessons are meant to engage and educate the first through third grades. Students can learn about historical world changers like Elizabeth Poett and learn mapping skills and information about the Chumash from two Chumash siblings. Enjoy exploring!

Grades 4-6

These lessons are designed to help fourth through fifth graders connect with their source material in a variety of different waves. Students can learn from a Japanese physicist or professor living on the Channel Islands. Lessons are designed to hit a variety of state standards from history to writing.

Junior and Senior high

These lesson plans challenge students to think beyond what they may already know about immigration, California History and WWII. Most of the standards in these lesson plans are writing based and have a variety of projects to encourage curiosity and good research skills.
