California History

California has a rich and ever-changing history. The people in these lesson plans challenge our ideas about what it means to be Californian: reflecting and contributing to our state and national identity. There are immigrants, nurses and even a surf board crafter. While the plans are adaptable, an emphasis on writing and history standards helps students make connections with their state’s history.

Natural Science

            The natural world is one of our greatest teachers. The individuals in these lesson plans are all curious and invested in their curiosity in different ways.
